From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft engine lost power in cruise flight. During landing roll out on a forced landing into a cultivated field the pilot applied brakes and the aircraft flipped onto its top. Crush damage to lower cowling, propeller spinner, vertical fin and rudder. Windshield was broken and three of the four wing struts buckeled. Portions of the intake manifold tubes were missing. The rest of the tubes were flared open as from exposive internal pressure. The gascolator contained a build up of sludge mixed with tiny metal shavings.
