From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After performing a 45 minute flight, which included three takeoffs and landings and several maneuvers, the pilot landed and the passenger boarded the aircraft. After takeoff, the pilot climed to pattern altitude and turned crosswind and upon entering downwind, felt a slight engine roughness, and then the engine stopped. The pilot realized he could not return to the runway. After checking the ignition and fuel, he attempted to restart the engine with no luck; the propeller would not turn. The pilot attempted an off field landing and the gear collapsed.
