From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

04/23/10 Received call at 1215PM from FAA communications center about a C172 N29047 that sustained nosegear and prop damage while landing on 33L at Islip airport. Arrived on site and interviewed the pilot in command vladimir about the incident. The pilot in command had all necessary documents and had recently taken a bfr on March 2010. The pilot said that during the landing his aircraft was lifted by possibly wake turbelence or a gust of wind and then forced the aircraft to settle onto the runway. After the aircraft settled unto the runway, it began to bounce, at which time the aircraft settled on its nose gear. After two bounces, the aircraft came to a stop. The pilot then taxied unassisted off of taxiway bravo three. Once at bravo three the isp fire and rescue came to assist. A & p maintenance towed the aircraft to their hangar. The aircraft was inspected by two farmingdale FSDO inspectors. The noted damage was to the nosegear , tire and rim.
