From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was cleared to land rwy 06, Nantucket Memorial Airport, Nantucket, MA as number two behind a light twin. The pilot reported turbulence on arrival and visual approach due to gusty winds. Pilot encountered gusty crosswinds during the landing phase (reported 80-DEG crosswind at 16 gusting to 23). After reducing power to idle (2-3 ft AGL) to complete the landing, a wind gust caused the aircraft to land hard in a three-point attitude. The nose gear collapsed on contact with the runway and the aircraft came to a stop off of the runway paved surface. There were no injuries.
