From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman departed Breckenridge, Texas for a local flight in N70MA, a Aviat A-1C-180 aircraft. Upon returning to Breckenridge, the pilot stated he made a perfect two wheel landing and when the tail started down, he eased back on the stick and secured the tail wheel to the runway. He then stated a gust of wind hit the aircraft causing the aircraft to ground loop collapsing the right main gear. There was minor damage to the right main gear and to the right wing tip.
