From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 04/26/10, aircraft 776RV damaged the engine propeller during landing at the Sacramento Executive Airport. The pilot stated that, while proceeding at low taxi speed of about 3 knots on taxiway a/b, and in communication with the sac ground control the pilot was looking ahead of the aircraft to find the Sacramento aviation hangar, not aware that the aircraft was moving into the median area of the taxiway. He missed judge the distance of a large taxiway sign. The sign was approximately two feet tall and six feet wide. He thought that he had time to clear it, but he was too close. He said he applied the brakes and the tail of the aircraft immediately rose up and the nose went down, causing the propeller to contact the pavement, curling back the tips, shutting the engine down.
