From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Nose gear collapsed during landing at Phoenix Deer Valley Airport runway 25L at 281740PDT. POB:1, injuries: none damage; substantial to the rudder, propeller and undercowl. In summary and following extensive research and close examination of the nose gear assembly the pilot believes the gear collapse was the result of a downlock indication system design and installation flaw specific to N23TR that will be remedied by improvements to the nose gear downlock indication system. The intention of the pilot/owner is to have the improvements incorporated into N23TR immediately, inspected and signed off before further flight operations.
