From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

In a telephone interview on 05-10-2010, the pilot, Mr. Tom f. Moynahan (770) 304-4000, stated that he checked the fuel in the tank with a stick and was satisified that he had enough fuel for a few touch and go landings. After several takeoff's, from runway 32, the aircraft engine sputtered on takeoff and he executed an immediate right turn putting the aircraft heading towards runway 14. After losing the engine to fuel starvation, he stated that he pointed the nose of the aircraft down to maintain air speed and right before impact with the parking ramp, he attempted to flair the aircraft. The landing gear and lower fuselage absorbed the impact and the air craft skidded 241 feet across the parking ramp sideways coming to rest a few feet on the surrounding grass. Aircraft "g" meter showed negative 3 g's and a positive 10 g's. he stated that he egressed the aircraft immediately incase of fire. He stated that later on, his back was hurting and his hand had been cut. He stated that the hospital determined that he had cracked a vertabrea after x-rays and could not be immediately released from care. Aircraft was severly damaged, landing gear twisted and broken off and the airframe bent and badly damaged in the wing area. The propeller was bent at the tips. Condition of engine unknown at this time.
