From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 14, 2010, during takeoff from the Burnet Airport at approximately 5500 MSL the engine lost power. An emergency landing, with the gear up, was executed into a cornfield near Liberty Hill, TX. All three occupants were not injured. Because of the corn stalks, a good visual inspection to determine the severity of the damage could not be accomplished at this time. The aircraft was transported to air salvage of dallas and an investigation was accomplished on the cause of the accident. privacy data omitted Did the oversight for the FSDO and found that the fuel filter bowl and screen assembly, gascolator housing, was deformed allowing the retainer to work loose from the assembly allowing the engine fuel pump to suck air, making the engine quit running.
