From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Sunday afternoon 6/20/10 while enroute from columbia airport (O22) to madera California Ercoupe N3437H experienced a engine failure due to fuel starvation. The suction line from the wing tank to the fusalage tank was damaged when it made direct contact with the hot exhaust tube and a hole was made. The hole prevented fuel from being siphoned from the wing tank to the nosel fuel tank and therefore when the tank was depleted the engine stopped. The pilot set up for a landing in a plowed field and landed with the furrows causing no damage to the airplane. The fusalage tank was filled and the aircraft flown by another pilot to the merced municipal airport (mce) where maintenance was performed to correct the damaged rubber line.
