From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off from runway 3 at approximately 1130-1145. Winds at the time were reported as follows: at 11:30 se at 13 gusting to 18. At 11:35 out of sse at 9 gusting to 17. Winds at 11:40 out of south at 16 gusting to 21. Winds at 11:45 out of the sse at 9 gusting to 21. Close to rotation speed the wind lifted the aircraft off the ground. Unable to maintain lift the right wing struck the ground causing the aircraft to spin around. Aircraft slid backwards and sideways down the runway then off into the dirt and sagebrush sheering off the right main gear and causing the tail section to crumple in an according type of action. Pilot and his passenger (wife) were able to walk away from the aircraft without any injuries. Aircraft damage severe on right wing, tail section, propeller, nose.
