From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

privacy data omitted, A certified flight instructor (CFI), was providing tail wheel instruction at the time of the incident to privacy data omitted. privacy data omitted Had previously received 10 hours of instruction, from privacy data omitted, in the Waco, UPF-7 prior to the incident. At approximately 1600 local, the aircraft departed northampton, MA (7B2) enroute to Westfield, MA (kbaf), with privacy data omitted in the front seat and privacy data omitted in the backseat, in order to practice take-offs and landings on a paved runway. privacy data omitted Was on the controls and executed an entry into the traffic pattern. Air traffic cleared N30130 for the option, runway 2. privacy data omitted Executed a normal approach to a wheel landing. After landing with the tail still in the air, at approximately 45 mph, privacy data omitted corrected for a right yaw with left brake. The brake application caused the aircraft to veer off the runway to the left, contacting a runway light. The aircraft then taxied to the ramp without further incident. Inspection of the aircraft indicates that the right lower horizontal stabilizer brace contacted the runway light causing a pencil eraser size hole in the lower fabric of the right horizontal stabilizer.

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI), WAS PROVIDING TAIL WHEEL INSTRUCTION AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAD PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED 10 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION, FROM ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, IN THE WACO, UPF-7 PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. AT APPROXIMATELY 1600 LOCAL, THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED NORTHAMPTON, MA (7B2) ENROUTE TO WESTFIELD, MA (KBAF), WITH ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IN THE FRONT SEAT AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ IN THE BACKSEAT, IN ORDER TO PRACTICE TAKE-OFFS AND LANDINGS ON A PAVED RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ON THE CONTROLS AND EXECUTED AN ENTRY INTO THE TRAFFIC PATTERN. AIR TRAFFIC CLEARED N30130 FOR THE OPTION, RUNWAY 2. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXECUTED A NORMAL APPROACH TO A WHEEL LANDING. AFTER LANDING WITH THE TAIL STILL IN THE AIR, AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CORRECTED FOR A RIGHT YAW WITH LEFT BRAKE.
