From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman was conducting stop and go takeoffs and landings for tailwheel practice on runway 3 at the Natrona County International Airport. Completed two wheel landings with approximately 5 knot left crosswind. Attempted a three point landing and touched down at an excessive speed and the aircraft veered to the right. Airman attempted to stop the rotation to the right by applying left brake and rudder. The attempt to stop the rotation was not effective. The aircraft right gear raised off the ground enough to allow the left wing tip to strike the ground causing substantial damage to the wing and possible damage to internal wing components.

As the FAA filed it
