What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Transfered from the statment received from pilot and compared to passengers statement:the pilot was on his first leg from monteryy, CA (kmry) to oshkosh with a stop in Vernal, Utah. The pilot was doing a straight-in approach for landing on runway 7 at kvel. At 4 miles out the pilot had 10 degrees of flaps and at 2 miles out the pilot put the gear lever in the down position (as observed by the passenger). The pilot was doing about 115 knots and added full flaps (38 degrees) and speed brakes. The airspeed was correct for landing at the runway threshold and the pilot was lined up correctly. The pilot set the plane down for a perfect landing, however, the landing gear had not extended. The aircraft slid down the runway and just before stopping went into the greass on the side. No one was injured.
