From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Landed khfd runway 02. 1st attempt was too high and executed a go-around. 2nd attempt came in full flaps, a/c was floating. Increased back pressure to lose altitude, engine at idle. Aircraft descended faster and increased back pressure slowly, but a/c dropped, hit hard and bounced. Increased power to full and did a go-around. Contacted tower to check landing gear. Tower advised nose gear appeared to be bent. 3rd attempt, came in much lower slightly below the VASI (3 reds 1 white) and approach was better. Landed normally keeping nose gear off the ground. Cleared the runway at "c" and stopped on taxiway, inspection revealed bent nose gear. Felt nose gear shimmy during taxi. Winds were light and variable at the time.
