From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft landed runway 24. On touchdown the right main gear strut housing broke causing the airplane to veer to the right side of the runway. Upon inspection, the right main upper gear assembly failed at the upper sissor attach point lugs. A dye penetrant inspection was performed on the upper left attach lugs. Cracks were found following the same path of failure as noted on the right side lugs. Another aircraft of the same type was examined, and the upper attach lugs showed the same cracks. The operator is filing a malfunction defect report.
