From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 16, 2010, a challenger (CL-600-2B16) registration number N954L was departing from kopf to kteb. A total of six persons were on board the aircraft which included the crew. The aircraft was departing runway 30 when at the take off roll they encountered 5 to 10 small doves. The pilots heard a small thump at rotation, so they called the tower to advise them of a possible bird strike. All indications were normal in the cockpit, so they decided to proceed onto kteb. About fifteen minutes into the flight the pilots received a call from the ATC center advising them that bird remains were found on runway 30. When the aircraft landed at kteb, inspection of the aircraft revealed a small blood stain on the lower right side of the fuselage just behind the radome. The aircraft was inspected by meridian jet center (repair station number IMJR053F) under work order number 100821. The aircraft and engines were inspected in accordance with maintenace manual 05-51-20. No discrepancies were found.
