From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 08-30-2010 during a training flight Mr. Tomita who was the flight instructor had to take over flight controls on landing but was unsuccessful at the recovery as the aircraft was already in a deep stall. When the student pilot cut the power on short final he had a hard time stabilizing the aircraft while attempting to center the aircraft over the centerline . At this time the stall horn came on and the aircraft started to settle, Mr. Tomita took over controls as the aircraft rocked back and forward and descended, but was unable to prevent the aircraft left and right wingtip to strike the runway surface. At the same time Mr. Tomita added power and tried to perform a go around , but was unsuccessful. The aircraft made a hard landing on the runway and veered of to the left side of the runway into the soft dirt and came to a full stop. There were no injuries reported. The only damage found on the aircraft was the wing tips.
