From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1945 on 09/10/2010, privacy data omitted was piloting N6064D on 8V2 airport for a local flight around Atkinson, Nebraska. During the flight, a quick moving gust front approached Atkinson, and privacy data omitted said he became concerned with the wind and decided to terminate his flight. While he was on short final for runway 029 at Atkinson, privacy data omitted stated a gust of wind caught his right wing, causing the aircraft to lose lift and impact the runway, damaging the propeller and causing the left main landing gear to collapse. The aircraft spun 180 degrees to the left and slid 50 feet off the left side of runway 029. No injuries were incurred by the pilot or passengers.
