From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 21, 2010, the pilot in command (PIC) of aircraft N216CF attempted to land at massey air ranch (X50). After moving the landing gear handle to the down position, he observed an unsafe landing gear indication and informed the Daytona Beach tower. He then declared an in-flight emergency and diverted the aircraft to the Daytona Beach International Airport (dab). Prior to landing at the airport, the PIC used the emergency gear extension system to extend the landing gear. The left and right main landing gear extended and the indictors showed that the main gears were down and locked. However, the nose landing gear indicator was still showing unlocked indication. During the landing phase of flight, the nose landing gear collapsed resulting in damage to the engine, propeller, nose landing gear, and the nose landing gear doors.

As the FAA filed it
