What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot was landing on a small lake in Simpson Pass, where he had landed earlier in the day. He encountered a downdraft on short final which disrupted his landing sequence. He skipped on his first landing which yawed the aircraft toward the shore and he was unable to correct for this. He pulled the stick back to try to dig the floats in, but he thinks that with full flaps the aircraft became airborne again. He landed on the tundra.
