From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On climb out after t.o. on rwy 36, at approx. 300 ft. AGL the engine quit. The pilot initiated a 180 turn back to the airport and impacted trees approx. 100 yards west of the runway on a southerly heading. On site investigation found engine ignition coil wire disconnected from the coil. The wire was reattached and the engine started and ran fine. The coil wire was not adequately supported and not secured to the coil. Engine vibration shook the wire and it worked loose from the coil.
