From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was preparing to move aircraft from vsf to leb. He had not recently flown the aircraft, so he wanted to do a few local landings before proceeding to leb. He made one landing and take-off and was on approach for his second landing on runway 23 (5498 x 100, paved). He stated the crosswind was from 290 degrees at 12-15 with gusts to 25. There were also glider operations in the area. On short approach he was carrying more power than usual. When he finally pulled the power back, he heard the gear horn just as the props struck and the aircraft settled onto the runway with the gear retracted. He was alone, admitted he forgot gear - no injuries. Damage to props, flaps and belly skins.
