From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 11-22-2010 at 3 pm local time a pitts si, N27NC, tail-wheeled aircraft was cleared to taxi to runway 10R via taxiway bravo. The aircraft taxied from the fuel pit to the closed entry point for runway 10R , when it collided with a single airport sign ( 2FT X1FT) that was located on a frangible mount at the center of the closed runway. The aircraft was supposed to make a right turn onto taxiway bravo, instead it made a left turn colliding with the closure sign. In addition to the propeller, the left main gear housing and tail wheel received minor damage. Note: for the past 8 months, construction has been done to taxiway b. this included the construction of a new taxiway to access threshold of runway 10 r. however other than removal of the taxiway centerline past the new taxiway entry to runway 10 r, the only other indication of the closure is a single sign that is located on the centerline 445 ft past the new taxiway junction. At the taxiway bravo junction there is no indication that beyond this junction the old taxiway is closed.
