From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On December 2, 2010, during landing operations at wiley post airport (pwa), N17343 was damaged after touchdown. Weather was not a factor. The pilot reported he had executed a normal touchdown to runway 35R at about 1630 hours local. After touchdown (tail wheel on the ground) he indicated the aircraft started turning to the right (east), he applied left rudder and aileron with left braking but was unable to keep the aircraft from continuing to rotate to the right. The aircraft continued until the load on the left main caused the aircraft to hop. When the aircraft came down the left main broke off from the left main gear structure. The left wing tip struck the runway and the aircraft tipped up on it's nose with the wooden propeller being damaged after it struck the ground. The aircraft settled back onto the runway's right edge having sustained minor damage.
