From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Monday December 06, 2010, at approximately 15:00 pm central time, a champ 7ECA, operated by a certified airline transport pilot, (ATP), was damaged after a loss of directional control while attempting a high speed taxi at Welcome Field (35KY). According to a record of phone conversation between privacy data omitted, an aviation safety inspector (ASI) with the louisville FSDO, and the pilot, terry allen richardson, ATP certificate privacy data omitted, he was not injured. Mr. Richardson stated that he had added fluid to the aircraft brake system and was taxiing the aircraft to test the brakes. Mr. Richardson stated that he was perfroming a "wheel taxi," which he explained meant that he was taxiing with only the main gear on the ground and the tail of the aircraft raised in the air. Mr. Richardson stated that he was taxiing at approximately 25 knots when, he believed, the left brake locked and caused the aircraft to turn sharply to the left and exit the runway. The aircraft traveled approximately 100 to 150 feet into a field next to the runway where it "ground looped" and came to a stop.
