From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Solo student pilot was attempting a touch and go landing on runway 09 at Fulton County Airport (fty). He states that he had a slight bounce on his landing and that he remained aligned with the runway when touching down after that bounce. The aircraft began to drift to the left and he states that he applied full right rudder and applied the right wheel brake. Skid marks on the runway confirm that the right wheel was braking. The aircraft continued to drift left and departed the paved surface. Shortly after ground tracks indicate that the aircraft was correcting back to the right, the left wing tip struck a fence post. The aircraft resumed its excursion and came to rest perpendicular to the runway, nose down an embankment in thick bushes. The damage was limited to: the left wing leading edge, outboard of the landing light, was deformed by impact with the fence post. Preliminary examination give no reason to suspect that the wing spar or internal structure were compromised. The landing light lens is broken. There is slight deformation on the lower right nose cowl. There is deformtion to te left horizontal stabilizer at its root, along with minor deformation of the underside of tha surface.

As the FAA filed it
