From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Captain short initally believed his aircraft was to be deiced on the gate. He was directed to 'c' pad for deicing by ground metering. Upon arrival at "c" pad, four aircraft were waiting on or in the process of being deiced. There were no marshallers present, and a deicing truck was parked on the spot captain short originally intended to park. Captain short elected to taxi behind the closest parked aircraft, an EMB-170. While taxiing behind the aircraft, the left winglet contacted the right horizontal stabilizer of the EMB-170. This contact went unnoticed by captain short until he was contacted by a flight attendant who informed him that a passenger had observed the collision. Captain short advised the crew of the EMB170, over the radio, of the collision, and both aircraft taxied back to the gate without further incident.
