From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 1 :oopm on 01/15/2011 N138AB departed north perry airport (hwo) towing a banner. At 3 :25PM during a climb from 500FT to 1000FT -over Miami beach,at the top of the climb pilot reported she only had partial engine power. She further stated any power over 2200 RPM the engine would sputter. She pulled carburetor heat thinking that it could have been possible carburetor icing and left it on the remaining flight. As she began to head back to hwo, the engine sounded rougher and she made the decision to make a precautionary landing at the greynolds golf course in north Miami. She released the banner and landed on the golf course. The aircraft was inspected by operator and run up of the engine indicated normal operation. Operator coordinated to with property owners and police to depart the golf course and flew the aircraft back to hwo with no further incident.
