From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Training pilot reported that while enroute to corry airport (8G2), cruising at 2500 ft and 120 knots, aircraft began to oscillate about the roll axis. Training pilot initially thought the malfunction was induced by the trainee pilot as he was setting up for a GPS approach. When questioned about the oscillation, the trainee pilot stated he did not induce the oscillation, and the controls were immediately passed to the training pilot. The training pilot confirmed that an aircraft discrepancy existed and a pre-cautionary landing was executed to a nearby hay field in venango county. The oscillations subsided as the a/c decelerated and a successful hover landing was executed. Phase of flight: cruisemeteorological conditions: vmcweather description: 3000 ft broken, 10 miles visibility, winds nw 5 mphcompany management personnel reported the flight control discrepancy and emergency landing to the NTSB pursuant to NTSB part 830.
