From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On approach to STC pilot attempted to lower landing gear, however the left main gear did not indicate a down and locked position. Pilot attemped to recycle but only right main and nose gear would cycle. Left main remained stuck in partial down position. Pilot talked with a mechanic and his CFI to try to find a solution to the gear problem but to no avail. Proceeded to make an emergency landing on rwy 31 at STC. Wx was VMC, rwy was dry, winds light. Upon landing pilot held wings level as long as possible. Left wing tip and left stabilzer contacted the runway and pulled airplane into an immediate 90 degree turn where it skidded to a stop at runway edge. Minor damage to right wing tip and right stabilzer. No injuries.
