From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was enroute from wausau, WI (auw) to middleton, WI (C29). While in cruise flight, the engine began to run rough and subsequently failed. The pilot stated that the engine would not restart after he adjusted the mixture control, applied carburetor heat and switched fuel tanks. The pilot then landed the aircraft on county road r approximately 6 miles south of Stevens Point, WI. Maintenance personnel removed and replaced the carburetor with a rebuilt carburetor and the the aircraft was subsequently flown to auw without incident. Personnel of the milwaukee FSDO inspected the original carburetor and could not determine the cause of failure.
