From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated on landing at Fort Payne, Alabama (4A9) the main gear touched down 300 feet past the numbers at 45 knots. He relieved back pressure to allow the nose gear to settle and when the nose gear contacted the runway he heard a loud noise and immediately pulled back on the controls and shut down the magnetos. This stopped the propeller and he was able to keep the nose off the ground and use rudders to exit the active to an old transient parking area until the aircraft nose loss lift and skidded to a stop.
