From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During aerial application (137) operations from a dirt runway parallel to norman road. West of Princeton CA. The commercial rated pilot stated he lost lift after takeoff during a down-wind turn and the aircraft settled into a dry rice field and flipped over. The pilot stated he was not sure if he lost power or if the aircraft was just to heavy. He stated when he realized the aircraft was settling he applied full power and attempted to dump the load of fertilizer he was carrying to regain lift. The dirt runway runs north south and the pilot stated there was a north wind of about 12 to 15 m.p.h. there was no property damage and no injuries to the lone occupant in the aircraft.
