From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 20, 2011, at approximately 1535 local time, N1143G, a Mooney, M20J, landed gear up at Plattsburgh international airport on runway 35. The owner, privacy data omitted, and sole occupant on board, was interviewed by telephone on may 21, 2011 at approximately 0800. He stated that he departed swanton, VT. With the aircraft were it had just had an annual inspection. He stated that he put the gear down about a mile out on approach to pbg, and touched down on the numbers. He then stated that just as he expected the wheels to hit, he heard the propeller contact the runway. After coming to rest, he waited for help to arrive and tried to contact the FBO for assistance. When he was unable to contact anyone he exited the aircraft and started walking to the FBO. Shortly thereafter, he saw an ambulance and firetruck approach him. The aircraft was removed from the runway by airport personnel before permission from any government entity was given. It appears that airport personnel tore the tiedown ring from the tail during removal. FAA personnel inspected the aircraft over the next two days and noted the following: the landing gear handle was found in the down position. The landing gear actuator circuit breaker was found popped. The landing gear position indicators and warning horn all appeared to work normally. The audio panel was selected to comm one which was not operational. The UNICOM frequency was tuned to comm two. When the aircraft was lifted, the landing gear extended normally once the actuator circuit breaker was reset and battery master turned on. There is no skid marks on either main gear door, however, the left door is bent. The nose gear doors and several belly skins are damaged. Several antennas on the belly are damaged.

As the FAA filed it

ON MAY 20, 2011, AT APPROXIMATELY 1535 LOCAL TIME, N1143G, A MOONEY, M20J, LANDED GEAR UP AT PLATTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON RUNWAY 35. THE OWNER, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, AND SOLE OCCUPANT ON BOARD, WAS INTERVIEWED BY TELEPHONE ON MAY 21, 2011 AT APPROXIMATELY 0800.
