I arrive at the scene at approximately 21:45 on Friday night nys police had secured the crash site, and marked the impact point and debris path on the pavement. Obtained pilot and owner info from state police investigator, spoke with Wurtsboro airport manager to insure aircraft did not take on fuel prior to departing N82, airport does not sell fuel. Updated communications center of accident status and made initial contact with NTSB. Scene was secured within parking lot which has corporate security. Returned Saturday morning completed on site investigation, coordinated with owner and NTSB to move aircraft to Wurtsboro airport and be secured there. Site notes: aircraft impacted parking lot pavement braking off nose landing gear assembly and one propeller blade, continued on a heading of 210? Magnetic for approximately 90 feet were it impacted a curb and chain link fence. Pieces of broken wooden propeller blade were through out debris path. The aircraft came to rest on a heading of 080? Magnetic with the left wing and tail assembly partially entangled in chain link fence. No vehicles or objects in the parking lot were struck by aircraft. No post crash fire occurred. Employees of company which owns the parking lot responded and applied absorbent material to the resulting fuel and oil leaks. All major components of the aircraft were accounted for as were flight controls. Flap control switch was in the "t.o." position and flap position appeared to concur with this setting. Propeller remained attached to engine and engine remained attached to mount and airframe. One propeller blade was pointed in the 5 o clock position, as observed from pilot's seat, and was broken at hub. Blades of grass were noted in the remaining stub which correlated with gouge in lawn between curb and fence. The other propeller blade was position at the 11 o clock position with no leading edge damage, a section of the trailing edge approx 14 " long was broken off from tip toward the hub. A slight scuff mark was noted on the back side of this blade. The propeller spinner was damaged with a large flat impact area on the lower left side. Significant damaged occurred on the underside of the aircraft displacing the dash upwards from the fuselage and significant crushing of the floor and firewall. The main landing gear was significantly bent up and the underside of the left wing showed evidence of the left main tire contacting and damaging the wing structure. Tail section was broken forward of the registration markings and bent down. Control tubes were damaged and bent but appeared to be intact. Seat belt and shoulder harness were installed and appear to have been used.05/23/2011: met with state police investigators and obtained copies of supporting depositions taken from three witnesses driving by the accident sight at the time of the accident and two airport employees.
