From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

May 22, 2011, upon landing and during his rollout, the pilot inadvertently hit the gear switch instead of the flap switch. The gear came out from under the aircraft causing the prop to strike the runway. May 31, 2011, I received the statement from the pilot admitting he mistook the gear switch for the flap switch. May 31, 2011, I contacted a Beech representative about the possible malfunction of the squat switch. He said the switch should have worked and prevented the gear from going up while the aircraft is on the ground.
