What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On taxi out to runway for departure, the RH brake caught fire. Pilot stated he had to use considerable RH brake to maintain straight path on taxiway. When almost at the runway end, pilot noted RH brake became soft, he then turned into the wind when he noticed smoke/flames from RH wheel. He then shut down the aircraft and egressed. Aircraft behind incident notified tower who sent fire services. Upon inspection, no damage noted to airframe. RH wheel pant and tire were burned. No injuries were reported. Inspection by maintenance personnel found evidence that the RH brake line broke causing hydraulic fluid to spill onto the hot brake caliper causing the fire.
