From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 14, 2011, at about 0915 CDT, the pilot stated he was making a spray run across a field of corn. As he raised up to go over a sprinkle system, he flew into a downdraft. The left main gear impacted the sprinkler pipe shearing the gear from the aircraft. He immediately smelled jet fuel and returned to the Spearman Airport (E42) where he landed with only one main gear. Upon landing the aircraft yawed left due to the missing wheel and slid to a stop facing back from where he came.
