From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Shortly after take-off from rwy 01, PIC experienced complete electrical failure. Returned to airport and attempted to land with retracted t/e flaps. Aircraft landed at high rate of speed beyond midfield and in the attempt to decelerate, blew out the left main tire, veered off runway right taking out one light stanchion, continued beyond runway end and came to rest after impacting airport road side guard rail. Investigation resulted in confirming failure of battery and alternator contactors (relays) in mcu. Removed mcu and routed to NTSB FL on 08/17/2011 for confirmation.
