From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 8/2/2011, at 10:10 the N6009Q'S engine quit after takeoff from pan, when pilot adjusted the mixture control. Mixture control was very stiff and moved suddenly to full lean as increased pressure was applied to move it. Aircraft was too low to attempt restart and over highway, so emergency landing was performed on highway. Mixture was returned to full rich and aircraft flown off highway and back to stellar airpark. An aircraft mechanic removed the mixture control and had it inspected for internal damage and cleaned, inspected and lubricated the mixture control cable. No specific source of the reported stiffness was identified.

As the FAA filed it
