From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot carrying a passenger, of a PA-20 aircraft, N7763K at the time of accident, did not properly evaluate the takeoff path. There was a slight tailwind <5 knots and takeoff roll was longer than expected. Aircraft struck a hump in the runway just as he rotated causing damage to the gear, pitching the aircraft forward onto the propeller and airplanes nose. The aircraft completely flipped over. He, nor his passenger privacy data omitted, were injured. An Alaska state trooper transported them back to anchorage by helicopter after setting off their spot beacon.
