From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 19, 2011, at approximately 1315 CDT, N3668Y, a Cessna 210, piloted by privacy data omitted, operating under 14 CFR 91, while attempting to land at Benton County Airport, TN (OM4), landed in the grassy area next to the runway with the landing gear in the up position. The aircraft sustained minor damage and there were no injuries to the pilot or his passenger. The weather at the time was clear and dry and was not a factor. During the approach, the pilot attempted to lower the landing gear with the landing gear handle and the emergency landing gear system. Both systems failed. The hydraulic power pack is suspected as the cause of the failure.
