From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC, privacy data omitted, and 1 passenger, reported the accident to NTSB on 8/21/11, Sunday, 1130 PDT, when his aircraft impacted trees at the east end of a private airport at Fall City, WA. He stated that he departed paine field at around 1110 (local) and was on an IFR flight heading to walla walla flying at 5000' and was directed to bandera intersection and climb to 9000'. At 7,500', he noticed that the airplane is losing airspeed, shortly afterwards the low oil warning light activated, he notified ATC and requested the nearest airport. He was diverted to Fall City, began a descent, saw the airport and attempted to land, no wind, light and variable. He said he wasn't sure of the pattern altitude, tree's on both sides, came in from the west, to the east, aborted first landing attempt, then went around, made a second attempt, landed midpoint of the runway, fast landing roll, unable to stop, went off the runway, crossed the service road, and impacted the trees.
