From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Witnesses observed the aircraft approach the Cavanaugh Bay airstrip. A witness indicated that he believed the aircraft was slow on final approach. Near the ground the right wing appeared to dip and the pilot initiated a go-around. The witnesses stated that the aircraft was climbing at a very high angle of attack. The aircaft then went out of view of the witnesses but both heard the aircraft crash in to the trees. The engine sounded as if it was developing alot of power as it struck the trees. The aircraft struck the ground vertically in a nose down attitude colliding with three trees.
