From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off north and reported reaching 300 feet altitude and heard bang and aircraft yawed right and he lost control. Aircraft crashed at end of runway about 150 feet to the right of center line in trees. Aircraft burned after impact. Pilot was able to crawl out of wreckage as fire started. Aircraft destroyed by fire and impact. The only parts not melted (except for steel parts) were the last 6 feet of the tail cone and the wings outboard of the wing strut attach points. Control cables were continuous but due to damage from fire a cause was not able to be determined.
