From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot reported he left goodyear, AZ airport (gyr), when he retracted the landing gear which went normally, but was immediately followed by a large pop sound. The goodyear tower called him to inform him that the gear had retracted and one leg fell back down. The left gear was in the trail position. The pilot cycled the gear with no avail. The left main just wiggled a little, but didn't move significantly. After calling a mechanic to confirm his suspicion the pilot decided that it was most likely the actuator that had broken loose and he wouldn't be able to get the gear down and locked. He tries yawing the airplane, and tried to get it to swing with inertia into the lock, but it wouldn't move more than a few degrees either way. He tried a manual gear extension, but it was obviously building pressure once the other two were down and locked. The pilot retracted the landing gear and made an uneventful no injury landing gear up landing at Mesa Gateway Airport (iwa).

As the FAA filed it
