From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After takeoff from bdl at an altitude of 200 feet, several passengers in the aft cabin area yelled "smoke; smoke". The flight attendant noted a concentration of light gray smoke or haze near the lavatory and it was moving forward along the top of the cabin. The flight attendant notified the flight crew of the situation and then proceeded to the lavatory to check for hot spots, none were noted, she then checked inside the lavatory for hot spots and a source of the smoke, no abnormalities or a source were noted. During this sequence of events the flight crew had also received an icas message "lav smoke" at which point the captain initiated smoke evacuation procedures and notified ATC that the flight was returning to bdl. An overweight landing was executed on runway 06, the aircraft cleared the runway via taxiway "h" then onto taxiway "c" where an emergency evacuation was initiated. There were no injuries noted among the passengers or crew resulting from the emergency evacuation. The flight attendant and several passengers indicated that the smoke did not have an acrid electrical odor nor were they able to identify or describe any distinct odor associated with any sort of combustion, one passenger thought it had an oily smell. An overweight landing was made at around 45,500 pounds, normal maximum landing weight is 42,549 pounds, touchdown was at or near 300 feet per minute.

As the FAA filed it

AFTER TAKEOFF FROM BDL AT AN ALTITUDE OF 200 FEET, SEVERAL PASSENGERS IN THE AFT CABIN AREA YELLED "SMOKE; SMOKE".
