From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was being operated over corn fields on pilot's property. Witnesses reported nothing unusual with aircrafts operation until it went below tree level. Witnesses did not see crash only saw aircraft shortly after it hit the ground. Pilot was only person on board. Fatal. Our records show that the deceased pilot did not have a current pilot or medical certificate. Aircraft maintenance log books were not available at crash site nor were they made available by family of pilot. Inspection of aircraft and engine performed with NTSB investigator on scene did not reveal anything to suspect mechanical malfunction as cause for crash.
