From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
After landing on Bethel runway 19L the pilot shut down the aircraft due to smoke in the cockpit; no emergency declared, CFR activated. A small fire ensued in the left rear door post. The pilot used the onboard handheld fire extinguisher and extinguished the flames. The aircraft was towed off of the runway to the hanger. Maintenance determined that the utility light switch had chafed a small hole in the fuel line. The switch then electrically shorted to the line and sparked a fire. Further action pending follow-up, and amend if necessary.
